Our goal at Macphail is to create a safe, secure and respectful learning environment for all members of the school community.
Macphail will create positive leaders that foster a school climate that supports academic achievement for all students, through healthy relationships and appropriate behaviours.
Respect and Responsible Citizenship
The Students will:
Demonstrate respect and dignity for all members of our school community;
Come to school prepared, on time and ready to learn;
Acknowledge that vandalism to school property, including learning materials,
and school buses is unacceptable;
Respect the dress code, which demonstrates respect for all members of the
school community. (Refer to Macphail's dress code in the student planner
and in the classrooms);
Respect the needs of others in the learning environment;
Demonstrate mutual acceptance and inclusion modeled by all.
Safety
All students will refrain from bringing anything to school that may compromise the
safety of others;
Unacceptable behaviour, such as physical, verbal, sexual or psychological abuse,
harassment, bullying or discrimination will not be tolerated;
Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated in our school community, including
school grounds, school buses, school (field trips) or Board sponsored events;
Any activity that will have a negative impact on the school climate will be dealt with
by school administration;
The administration has the authority to search school property, such as desks and lockers,
and personal property, such as backpacks and handbags with reasonable grounds.
Resolution
All members of the school community are to be accountable for their behaviours and actions;
Consequences will be corrective in nature and a learning experience for those involved;
Clear and fair consequences for unacceptable behaviour are consistent with
Progressive Discipline and Safe School Policy and the Board's policy on Safe Schools.
