At Macphail, we begin each day with bilingual announcements and important messages for staff and students. We finish our announcements with a message for the day that relates to our current school culture focus.
Throughout the year we have many assemblies with student-driven messages and celebrations focussed on our BWDSB character traits, our anti-bullying expectations, growth mindset and the arts. We're hopeful to return to this during the 2021- 22 school year.
Macphail is definitely the hub of our community in Grey Highlands. Several community-based activities are held after school at Macphail and many of our students sign up and participate for these exciting opportunities. FSO (Flesherton Symphony Orchestra) is a musical experience hosted after school each week in our music room where current and former students explore their love of music and the arts. We also have an active group of community members who have created an Arts Umbrella program that is offered several times throughout the year. Students who sign up for this program enjoy the opportunity to take part in various activites including cooking, model-building, painting, bird house builing, drama and music activities. These were great endeavors that happened pre- Covid. We will return to this, with hopes that it's sooner rather than later!
